Nancy Carey Cassidy named to ‘Terrific 25’

CDPHP celebrates those who have improved the Capital Region.

Nancy Carey Cassidy, Picotte executive vice president and chief operating officer, was recognized by CDPHP (Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan, Inc.) as one of its “Terrific 25.” In honor of its 25th anniversary, CDPHP celebrated community leaders who volunteer their services and time, exemplify dedication to public service and make personal sacrifices to improve the lives of others.

For nearly 30 years, Nancy’s efforts have helped make a difference — in health care, the arts, economic and community development, and historic preservation. She serves as vice chair of the Board of Directors of Albany Medical Center and is the past chair of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce and a longtime board member. In 1983, Nancy worked with CDPHP to launch “Dancing in the Woods,” an annual event that has become a community favorite raising more than $5 million dollars for AMC’s Child Cancer Program. She has also co-chaired the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon for the past five years; its proceeds help support the Albany Children’s Hospital at AMC.

“I’m extremely flattered and grateful for this honor. I take my responsibility to the community seriously and appreciate the opportunity to strengthen the region,” Nancy said. “I thank CDPHP for its recognition of the importance of volunteering time and energy to better where we work and live.”

Other area leaders named to the “Terrific 25” include Albany Mayor Gerald D. Jennings, attorney E. Stewart Jones Jr., educator Cynthia S. Cromie and community leader the Rev. Peter Young.
